Teaching Assistants, Volunteers and Interns Sought for 2012-13 Season

NBYT seeks Teaching Assistants for after-school theater programs in New Britain public elementary and middle schools for the 2012-13 school year. Current college students or recent graduates of theater or arts education programs are encouraged to apply. Teaching Assistants will assist with warm-ups, acting instruction, rehearsals, and other planned activities; will support “share day” performances; and will supervise program participants. All candidates must be reliable team players and be responsible for their own transportation. Salary is dependent upon training and experience.

NBYT also regularly seeks volunteers to assist with design, set construction and prop building, painting, costuming and technical theater needs. Some stipends for experienced theater volunteers are available. Parents of cast members are also more than welcome to volunteer!

NBYT also seeks interns interested in education, production, or administrative positions. Available work includes teaching assistance, assistant stage management, marketing, fundraising, and more. Positions are available during the fall or spring semesters or summer. Hours and commitment are flexible. Interns are unpaid, but NBYT will cooperate with schools and colleges to provide academic credit or community service credit if available.

To apply for any position, please email Darren Farrington, the NBYT Executive Director and Producer, at jobs@nbyt.org.
