The NBYT Teen Company will hold auditions for Any Dream Will Do, a musical theater revue, on Sunday, September 8, and Monday, September 9, at Trinity-on-Main Performance Center Annex at 19 Chestnut Street in New Britain. Audition times both days begin at 6:00 p.m. For those cast, rehearsals will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The production will be performed at Trinity-on-Main on November 22, 23 and 24, 2013.

Any Dream Will Do is a musical theater revue of songs celebrating dreams, wishes, “thinks,” and the power of imagination. The revue will be musically arranged and directed by Angela Klimaytis, recent Musical Director of Once on This Island Jr. Songs will include solos, duets, small groups, and full-cast numbers performed by the ensemble.

Participation is open to 12 to 18 year-olds from any town. Those auditioning should prepare at least eight lines of a song, preferably from musical theater. Sheet music may be brought, or they may sing a cappella (without accompaniment). Anyone auditioning might also be asked to sing a song with music provided by the director. To schedule an audition, call (860) 515-8115 or email auditions@nbyt.org. Those cast will be asked to pay a participation fee of $60, but will receive two complimentary tickets for the production. No one, however, will be turned away for inability to pay, so please ask about financial assistance if necessary. Teens may also call with interest in production and backstage positions.

The NBYT Teen Company is a program of New Britain Youth Theater in which teens become involved in choosing, producing and promoting their own theater. The program offers leadership opportunities and a chance for teens to suggest the shows they want to do, all while under the guidance of NBYT directors.
