NBYT Launches New “Reach Out Ensemble” Homeschool Program

In association with CarPort Productions, NBYT announces the launch of the Homeschool “Reach Out” Ensemble. “Reach Out” will consist of a group of actors, ages 10 to 18, who will rehearse a short performance to tour to senior centers and other facilities in the Greater Hartford and Greater New Britain areas.

The program is a wonderful opportunity to not only learn (or expand knowledge) about theater and how to prepare a show, but also a way to serve the community. Rehearsals will be held on Thursdays from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. beginning on January 23rd at New Britain Youth Theater at Trinity-on-Main Performance Center in New Britain.

The first scripts will be 1930s and 40s radio plays, and participants will play character roles, announcers, advertisers, and also help to create sound effects. The tour will travel in the months of March and April, and performances will also be held on Thursdays. Transportation must be provided by participants, and will not be provided by CarPort or NBYT. The participation fee is only $25.00 per child for this first run of the program.
