A Tale as Old as Time, July 22-24

Postcard (front)NBYT will perform a “Tale as Old as Time” as it produces Disney’s Beauty and the Beast Jr as its summer musical.  Beauty and the Beast Jr is a version of the award-winning Broadway hit musical—based on the Disney film—for young performers and audiences.

Along with Belle, the Beast, Cogsworth, Lumiere, Mrs. Potts and Chip, Gaston and LeFou, over forty children ages five through sixteen from throughout central Connecticut will play narrators, villagers, and dancing enchanted objects! Ambitions are aimed high for this year’s summer musical, and it will also feature some of the most elaborate sets and costumes yet onstage at NBYT.

Beauty and the Beast Jr will be performed at Holmes Elementary School, a community space located at 2150 Stanley Street in New Britain. Performances are Friday, July 22, at 7:00 p.m.; Saturday, July 23, at 7:00 p.m.; and Sunday, July 24, at 2:00 p.m. Ticket prices are $15 for adults and $13 for children, students, and seniors. Tickets may be reserved by calling New Britain Youth Theater at 860-515-8115 or may be purchased online through Universe ticketing. Tickets will also be available to purchase at the door for all performances.
